Happy Tamil New Year!

It’s New Year’s Day in the Tamil calendar, so happy new year! I didn’t know about this until only a few days ago, and coincidentally I concluded my job yesterday. Also coincidentally, yesterday was Friday the 13th. So it looks like I might be at the mercy of two superstitions, one good and one bad. I’m hoping that at worst they cancel each other out, leaving the commencement of my new employment next week to be a neutral affair.

  2. I have always thought of Friday the 13th to be a good luck day for me. Maybe it’s just me. Three’s run in our family and I regard any occurrences of three to be good luck for us. I was born on the 13th, my sister was born on the 13th, my brother was born on the 3rd, my mother was born on the 30th. My father was born on the 12th, evenly divisible by three and the numbers added together equal three! My wife was born on the 23rd, our daughter was born on the 30th. Three’s all the way baby.

Wow, freaky. This captcha that has been presented to me includes four lots of the number three!
